2025 Vineyards Visit & Car Show
Vineyards Visit & Car Show, 2025
By Morris Garagian
This event is a small summer event that the management of the Vineyards put on every year for the enjoyment of the residents of the Vineyards Armenian retirement community. Morris was lucky enough to go last year and it is starting to be a ‘must go’ event due to the enjoyment seen in the faces of the residents of the home. Most of these folks are unable to attend car shows in the area, so the car show comes to them.
The VBAC was again invited by the Vineyard and joined by the Pharoah’s Car Club and the Early Ford V-8 Club, San Joaquin Chapter. These are both domestic car clubs in the Fresno area that highlight Detroit iron. Although the show was small, there were a few unique vehicles: a military Dodge Power Wagon and an Australian Ford Falcon that was featured in the Mad Max movie series, come to mind. Also, the British influence was noticed with a 50s Nash Metropolitan. The little Nash is powered by a 1500 cc MGA engine with a single SU carb, not the dual setup that’s in it’s ‘across the pond’ cousin.
Due to this event being on a Friday, there was limited attendance. Those that attended were Pres. Jon (Jaguar XF), Dan & friend Paul (Jaguar 420G), Gary & Deanna (classic Range Rover), Michael (Jaguar conv.), Richard (TR-3), and Larry (MGA).
The day was spent meeting and talking with the residents of the retirement community and the show exhibitors and learning of the stories of the various autos. A pretty good band played a lot of hits from the 50s & 60s, and a great lunch was provided to all. Due to the on coming heat, the event ended about 2:00.
A nice event for a summer’s day.
Til the next time: Safety fast!
