2025 Dixon Car Show

Dixon Show, 2025

By Morris Garagian

In the wee hours of the morning of May 17, Martin, Jay, Nick, & Morris, traveled northbound to experience the annual Dixon All-British Motor Vehicle Show & Swap Meet. Not only did our group hope to enjoy the show, there were a number of classic Mini parts Martin hoped to sell.

The United British Sports Car Club, Sacramento, has been organizing this continuing meet for a number of years and they did not disappoint. This year there were upwards of 300 pristine British vehicles in attendance.

This was also a great time to meet old friends/acquaintances from past times. On hand were Marcelo Locascio from Union Jack Restorations and visitors to the Clovis Roundup & members of the VBAC: Joe & Sue Gresch, Bud Alkema, Paul Ward, Richard Swack, Pete Cowper, Bernie Rapaport, Roger Otis, Everett Keithley, Ray Davis, and Andy Preston. Later, Jay’s brother-in- law, Joe, joined us at the Mini ‘selling table’.

A great day was spent looking at all types of British autos & motorcycles and selling our wares. Later we had a great lunch and watched the parade of vehicles leaving the fairgrounds. Afterward, we hit the road homeward bound.

A few days later I found out some results of the judging: Joe & Sue took 1st place in the MG T series with their 1952 MG TD, Bernie got 1st in the Midget/Sprite competition with his ’66 MG Midget Mk II, Ray Davis received 2nd in the British Specialty, 1923 Morris Oxford Bullnose (Ray got Best Unrestored @ the Roundup), Andy Preston took 2nd in the MGB class, and Everett Keithley got 3rdplace in the MGAs. Congrats to all!
