Breakfast Run to Woodlake Airport Cafe
On April 14th we had a Breakfast run to the Woodlake Airport Runway Café scheduled. The weather did not seem to want to cooperate with our plans. It had been raining for 3 days and there was a chance of showers that morning. A small group of 4 cars met at a Starbucks so we could get our pre-run top off before our little drive. Conversation and checking out a new paint job on one car and my wife showing off her new Mini took a little longer then I thought so we headed out a little late. Dan our leader took off in his newly painted Datsun 240Z (?!) , followed by Stewart in his daily driver MGB GT, then Marta in her new Mini and I pulled up the rear with my MGB. About 5 minutes down the road it began to rain, it still cracks me up to turn on my wipers and have those 3 little things do their job (71 MGB Roadster). Well we were about 20 minutes late and the only other ones to make it were Rick and Betty in their TR6. They grabbed a table while they could as the place was packed, but we had a table for 6 set right up. Breakfast and service were both great. The rain did break, so the chit chat continued into the parking lot. Would like to do this run again, maybe next time the weather will be better.
