Ten Years Ago This Month – February 2002
What were the members of the Valley British Auto Club up to just 10 years ago?
This was in the “Upcoming Events” section of the newsletter for February 2002. You remember 2002 don’t you?
The pole position for February is awarded to our regular meeting at the Round Table Pizza at First and Bullard on February 20, 7:00PM. We will discuss this year’s upcoming events and eat pizza. Another topic for the meeting that would be good to discuss is who is your classic or even new British car insured by and how did you choose them? Price? Service? Great agent? Let us know!
Next will be our Annual Blossom Run on Sunday March 3rd. Please checkout the flyer in this month’s issue and write it in on your calendar. Kurt Lanse, your host for this event, has a full schedule worked out starting with our meeting at Simonian Farms to a train ride to lunch at the Spike and Rail. This will be our first tour of the year so get ready now and plan on having a great day!
Following the Blossom Run will be the TUNE IN and TUNE UP day at Steve Phillips home in Clovis. 10AM until 2PM. Steve has a BAR90 smog machine so you can have your mixtures checked and see if you would pass a smog check or not. This is the time to find out if you are a rolling target for the CARB also known as the much disdained “GROSS POLLUTER” (You guys know who you are). You must also be ready to offer Steve lots of advice on how he should do whatever it is he is doing and why it he should do it your way. He LOVES that!
Bring your lunch and maybe so BEER to “encourage” Steve. (PS – Steve requests that you please do not drink any beer before noon, London time.
