South Valley Run to Three Rivers

A couple months back we set up a run for our south valley members. We met up at a Starbucks in Visalia on a pleasant Saturday morning. As usual I was the first one there (had to make sure I got my triple venti mocha, and my wife got her venti nonfat iced chai with 8 pumps). As we sat there enjoying the coolness of the morning, we were pleased to see the British cars roll in. I believe we ended up with 3 MG’s, 3 Triumphs, a Healey, and a Jag. (Click photo for more pics)
We left Visalia and headed through some back streets and roads to the town of Exeter. Exeter is a small town known for its many murals. After a slow drive through town we went up Rocky Hill Road. This road is famous to the locals for biking, running and walkers. So slowly we headed up, and at the top is a great view of the farmland that looks like a patchwork quilt. Then down and around the hill we went before heading up the 198 towards Three Rivers.

Veteran’s Parade

Vet Parade Once again we had a small group from our club participate in the Veteran’s Parade in Tulare. Only had 4 cars this year, but we made a show of it. Thanks to Monica in her beautiful TR7 Spider, Wes in his very nice MGA and Sam in his exceptional Morgan, and I took my MGB. I dressed up my car with flags and our club logo on the side of each door, and my picture made it into the local web site for the paper.  I feel very proud to support our Veterans and it is good for our club as well as for our hobby to get our cars out there. I will be there again next year, it is always the weekend before Veterans Day, so keep it open and join in….Richard Thornberry (Click on photo for more pics)
